Yuki is a sweet, gentle soul looking for a calm and understanding home to call her own. At around 4 years old and just under 40 pounds, she is a delicate, meek yet joyful girl who truly thrives around people. She’s the kind of velcro dog who enjoys walking right alongside you or quietly sitting at your side. She has a docile, affectionate nature and is incredibly gentle, especially when taking treats. Speaking of treats, she is very treat motivated, which will make training a breeze. While she’s still polishing her leash manners, she has already made great progress since arriving at the shelter and continues to improve every day. She has a good appetite and keeps a clean kennel.
Yuki is building her confidence and finds other dogs intimidating, needing a large personal bubble to feel safe. She is easily frightened and will require slow, patient introductions and thoughtful management if living with another dog. With intentional interactions and time, we believe her comfort level can continue to grow, but she would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She may do well with cats and or respectful, low-key dogs. Overall, Yuki is a tender-hearted, loyal companion who will blossom in a quiet, patient home where she can build confidence at her own pace and stay close to the people she loves.
